A commissioned painting for a retired seafarers birthday.

I used to be an Engineer for Ben Line, the company that owned this ship. I was contacted by the family of a retired deck officer after they found a painting I had done of one of the ships I served on. The painting was on the 'Fine Art America' website, but they didn't know that I live literally a few miles from them.

They asked me to paint the Benedin which was their family members favourite ship, and I found a couple of photographs on line. They selected a Black and White image which I based the painting on. They had no idea at the time that he was serving as a 3rd Mate on the ship when this photograph was taken in the Malacca Straights off Malaysia.
